Monsanto 705

Designed by Seascape, Monsanto 705 is a low-impact building that respects the existing urban scale, with a reduced-height facade facing Rua de Monsanto and developing to the north, with views over the valley, in Paranhos, Porto. At Seascape we build to last, and we know that solutions which stand the test of time always start and end with people. This cornerstone of human-centred design is who we are: by focusing on people's needs — not following shifting tastes or trends — we create original, timeless solutions that make an enduring impact. The use of natural materials, particularly the wooden-panel facade, creates a soft, welcoming design that resonates with the surrounding vegetation. By incorporating balconies, terraces and green roofs, the architecture becomes part of the landscape itself. Situated in the new "green belt" being developed by the Municipality of Porto, the project is integrated into the cultural heritage of historic parks and preserved landscapes such as Quinta do Covelo and Quinta da Prelada. The landscaping reinforces this common landscape and dialogues with a spirit of simplicity, openness and the regenerative power of nature. It is a modern residential building of very moderate scale, set within a lush green space, with ample balconies and landscaped terraces flooded with native vegetation. The facade features wooden louvers, integrating the building into the common gardens and reinforcing the concept of "a building in the park." In the heart of Porto, between centuries-old parks and historic estates, it offers an architectural oasis of tranquillity. The development comprises 20 exclusive apartments, of 1BR and 2BR typologies, with areas ranging from 60 to 216 m². At its core, Monsanto 705 is an oasis where residents enjoy the grandeur and tranquillity normally found in suburban landscapes without sacrificing the connectivity of a nearby urban environment. Delivery is expected in 2027.
